All I can say is the price is too good to be true.

Meet him at an AD for verification. If he balks you'll have your answer.

He claims he will meet at an AD to verify all. Could be legit but the price is very low.

If genuine and original this is a $70,000 watch.

I had planned on going to the Sanctury Cove International Boat Show this weekend on the Gold Coast. There are always high rollers on the Gold Coast, but more than usual this weekend I think, so he could of factored that into the timing and location of selling . Anyway, while I'm down there, it should be no problem to arrange a meeting. The AD there is only a retail outlet for ROLEX and many other brands, no watchmaker. But I do know a good pawn shop that can open up ROLEX watches. First I have to convince the guy to let it be opened up, and that I'm a genuine buyer, I'll be honest and say that I can get no where near the watches real value if authentic . He says that it is from a collector in Sydney. Why then is his mate not selling it He takes no responsability for it's authentisity. Man, I hate to think it's stolen, but stranger things have happened . I'll take down all the numbers I can find on it and check I'll take my cammera.

Rob, did you get to see this piece? Has the seller sent you some more photos?

Hi,

Well I'm back home from down the Gold Coast now. I contacted the seller to explain I would be availabale for a viewing and asked for his phone number and gave him mine. But he never contacted me back. I guess he thought the auction was going just fine. But the auction at even 20 grand, is still worth a bid. I bet it'll race up in the last few minutes.
Anyways, I came across a salty old digger on a Sports Cruiser at the boat show, and low and behold, he had an old Sub on his wrist. Tactfully I asked him about his ROLEX and this was his story. He was aboard the Australian vessel GRETEL II in the 1970 Americas Cup. Unfortunately they were beaten by the Americans on the INTREPID, 4 wins to 1. Both yacht teams received a Sub each. I know the band isn't genuine, but he was such a nice old chap, I wasn't going to hastle him. Oh and one of my SD looking at home.
