The new one - and some questions

Hi all,

Last days of vacation and the new DJ back on the wrist. I posted a picture of it earlier and thanks for the very nice feedback by the way. Kind of facinating - I still find new pieces of plastic here and there on the watch that needs to be removed...

I was wondering two things - first of all regarding the white gold bazel - how prone is it for scratches? Will the white gold need some kind of treatment later on like for example wedding rings do? How durable is it in general? The second question, this particular watch had another dial to start with (the rodhium roman). I had the AD change it to the one thats on the watch now before I bought it. Will this somehow compromise second hand value (since the watch in Rolex registers should have another dial)?

This watch is fantastic on the wrist - super comfortable and I hardly notice it's there...

Thanks in advance!

Erik

A colleague has a 16234 from 1992 and the bezel looks almost new. No service since he bought it, no special care.

...looks like the same configuration that I'm having but on the previous model. I hope my Watch will look that good after 30 years! Thanks!

I had a DJ for about 7 years and if I had looked after it, it would still be in near perfect condition, no worries.

The fluted bezel will hide scratches really well. No special care needed.
Did they let you keep the original dial?

Nothing special needed, just don't whack it on doors and railings and you'll be fine

No, the dial was exchanged and they didn't let me keep the original...

I wore my DJ for 20 years, every day all day in the Army and only had it serviced once. The DJ is rock solid and reliable.

no treatment needed for the bezel on your watch. rolex solved that problem quite some time ago.

The bezel will remain perfect (aside from scratches), the dial change should not effect the value of the watch either. It was changed with an authentic dial and stones are not involved.

Love that blue dial. One of the best, IMO. Relax and enjoy.
