Air King 5500, 1958 with a bit of patina
Hey guys,
I got an Air King 5500 cal. 1530. The watch is from 1958 and it has some patina on it. I haven´t seen many Air Kings with this kind of "explorer style" dial and I was actually hoping you guys could help me a bit getting information about this. Also I would very much appreciate your honest opinion about the looks. The watch is currently being overhauled by Rolex. They will not touch the dial. https://photos-4.dropbox.com/t/2/AAC...60&size_mode=2 |

Really looking forward to some pics of this, does it have a super precision dial?

It does have the super precision dial.
Here is a link to a dropbox folder where you can see more pictures (this on should work!): https://www.dropbox.com/sh/6wi4v6lim...XT8I5G1fa?dl=0 |

Wow! I would say that's a far cry from "some" patina!
It looks cool as hell, but that is a LOT |

Meant as bit of a joke, but could not find a smilie.
On a serious note, if that dial has been done by Radium, then just how hot is that watch. I've seen quite a few AK from this period with that dial and lume but never with a burnt dial like the one in the link. |

Most swiss only midsize dials I've encountered have had heavily spotted or patinated dials though unless they are lumeless. |

I don't care what caused this color, it's an all-star!
