Flip SubC LN date for SDC 4000?
I currently own a SubC LN and Hulk. Was considering flipping the black sub for SDC 4000. I have smaller a wrist and like the more tapered lugs of the SDC 4000. Thoughts?? Is it really worth the $1,800-$2,000 extra for the flip?

I am in the same situation. I wish the SDC was available back when I bought my sub but the additional cost is not worth it for me to flip.

I made that move. Love the SD. It's a little thicker with more narrow lugs. I also love the raised crystal.

I like the SD 4000 much more than the Sub. The trade value question I can't help with.

for smaller wrists, the sd4k is usually a better fit. try it on and see for sure if possible. is it worth it? only you can decide.

Flip SubC LN date for SDC 4000?
The SD4k is definitely a nice watch.
Narrower lugs, thicker, raised crystal, engraved case back, minutes marker all around the bezel. You get the simmetry of a SubND with the convenience of having the date function. I also like that you don't see it in the wild as you would with a SubC. For the price gap, is a first class ticket worth the extra vs business class ? If you can afford it, yes it does !

I like the resulting combination of a SD and an LVc...pure killer.
Now, is it worth it? A totally different question. I might try checking around with our trusted sellers and seeing if one of them has a nice pre-owned SD that you wouldn't have to take a bath for. |

The Sub is a great "only" piece. But it's the same as the Hulk except for color, right?
The SDc with its crystal and matte dial makes a much nicer compliment to the Hulk. I would do it and yes I think it's worth the extra expense. |

How about going with an 16610. You'll probably like the fit better and may find a few $$ your way.

I would also give thought instead to an old-school 2-line 14060 with lug holes.

I am in the same situation as well!
My 3-step solution: 1) Give my wife the SubC (it looks damn good on her too!) 2) Just sold my 116264 DJ ToG. 3) Buy SD4k for myself. :) |

I am in the same situation and thinking about trading my subc date and speedy for one. I cannot get that watch out of head for some reason. I would do it in a hearbeat if I had the hulk.

I would not do it. I love the cyclops and I don't need the extra thickness, raised cristal, HEV, matte dial, engraved caseback etc. But if you want the SD-C go for it. It will be easy to get the Sub back if you regret.

SD wears smaller and more elegant on my wrist. No regrets here after flipping my SubC for one...

I flipped HULK for SDc and no regret at all.
As a matter of fact, after I got SDc, I had to let my Bluesy go. SDc looks just better than Subc in my opinion- narrower lugs,a bit more height, matte dial... I was a Submariner guy for a while.. had three Ceramic subs at one point and have zero sub now. |

there is nothing like owning and wearing a watch you love. if the SD4K is that watch for you, then I think you should go for it.

You might consider looking at both the Sub Date and Sea Dwellers that are pre-ceramic. Both wear smaller. If you must go with current models, then, yes, I'd go SD4000.
