Picked up this cool zulu strap for another watch I wear to work often. I think it'll look sweet on my Pepsi. Need to order a 20mm version now.

If I'm wearing longs sleeves I will cause it can hide. With short sleeves I don't wear it. Not because I'm worried about it getting damaged, but because I feel weird walking into someone's place who barely making ends meet or dealing with poverty with something like that on for all to see. Be a bit hard to get them to believe I care about them and understand what they're going through.

18 years federal law enforcement as a Special Agent, and 1 year as a local Sheriff's Deputy.
This was recently sold to make room for a new, special piece from Rolex. |

I wore mine to work but I didn't wear it AT work. It stayed in my locker. I didn't want it to get banged up in a fight. The city would only cover damaged / destroyed watches to $50.
The local paper wanted to do a story on police use of force and since I was the instructor, I was chosen. I met the reporter and photographer at the range and they took a couple of photos. Problem was, I'd forgotten to switch watches as I wasn't going on patrol. I took a lot of grief from my association leaders as we were in the middle of contract negotiations. It's hard to cry poor to the city council when one of the officers is on the front page obviously wearing a GMT II. Lesson learned. |

I didn't acquire my first rolex till after I retired but I would not wear it while on duty anyway.

I'm working in the field of law enforcement in the Netherlands and I think you can best compare my job with the IRS in the US.
Normally I always wear my Rolex watches to work because there is almost no risk of damaging my watch during work. Edit: I only have a few pictures of my watches so here are two wristshots. Coincidentally, today I made this picture at the office.

Will do Chuck, the job has changed drastically in a very short period of time! Were going to have to try and get a LE TRF get-together going in NY sometime in the near future!

First of all, thank you all for your service, it's truly appreciated.
Can I ask what you mean by it being open season on police? All I see in the media lately are how many unarmed citizens have been killed by law enforcement this year in the USA. It seems the trust gap between citizens and the police is getting larger :( Just curious if I've missed something. I'm the last person to believe all the media hype and have many friends and associates in law enforcement. |
