15300 help/advice?

Hey everyone, looking for some help in regards to an AP 15300.

I'm turning 30 in a month and figure it's a good excuse for a new watch. I called a local watch shop, Govberg, and they happened to have a white dial G serial, preowned piece in stock for $12,750 (box no papers), Govberg 15 month warranty, and they say it's been serviced recently. I made my way down and tried it on. It's a great looking piece and extremely comfortable. I put a refundable deposit down to hold it.

They said they'd need to talk to the manager about discounting. A quick search on the forum makes the price look competitive.

What do you guys think about the price? Should I be looking at other models too (15400,15202)?

Thanks in advance for the help

Price is slightly on the higher side IMO. Seen them go for 11/11.5K with box and papers. Still not too harsh though.
If you can pull of the 15202 I would definitely do that.
The size is perfect on your wrists I must say.

Looks good. Price seems high for no box or papers but I'm not in touch with the 15300 market.

I would not offer more than 11k, no box, no papers

Offer them 12K because I don't think they'd do any better than that. Although you can get a BNIB 15400 for 12.5K.

Prices seem to have risen recently so might not be a bad deal. Looks good on you so can't blame you if you don't want to hunt around.

Thanks guys. I think I'm going to run downtown to their other location where they have some more stock, hopefully a 15202 to test out.

I agree that the price seems high, and that if you are going to spend that kind of cash to try them all out.

I'm in the minority here, but order of preference goes 15400 > 15202 >>>>>15300.

I agree with others that the price is high for no B/P. I would also ask if it was serviced by AP or by them. I think Govberg's services these pre-owned pieces. APs are pretty hard to polish so I would check closely.

As others have said, price is on the high side, BUT if it was recently serviced by AP and they have the receipt it may not be a bad deal. If Govberg did the service I would pass.

I think pricing is on the high side as others have noted. For me I would pass because if I were looking for a 15300 I would want box and papers with it and would prefer the latest series of it (H serial).

I find the blue RO's so much nicer than the others, whatever the model that I wouldn't even consider another color, but if you like white dial go for it, though the price for a no box no papers is a little stiff IMO

Passing on this particular piece. Picked up the deposit. Going to their downtown location to try on a few other models in consideration, when I have time.
Thanks all for the feedback

Let us know how it goes. I turned 30 in June and got married last month - I marked both landmarks with a 15400.

They have a 15400 down town that I'm going to try on, when I can find time.
No 15202's to try on though.
Will also try on PP5167...

Thanks again for the help

See if they have a 15202 in RG so you can at least try on the size. When I was looking, I wasn't able to find a SS, but I was able to find a RG.

I sold my 15300 with box no papers for around $10k so yeah 12k is a bit too much for it but, it is a great piece wore the living heck out of it

In excellent condition, I think $11.5k complete is fair. $11k would be a good deal.

The 15300 seems to have appreciated quite a bit lately. It's one of my favorites.

Perhaps a bit late in replying, but agree with others that price point is high. I was also leaning towards 15300 but could not find one at the price point I was seeking. I seen one posted here with papers and under warranty for a good price.

I ended up getting a 15400 for a good price and under warranty.
