FSOT: 1977 Rolex Submariner 1680 Matte Dial

Up for sale is my Rolex Submariner 1680. Serial number is 506xxxx, which dates it to 1977.

Case: Case has been previously polished, serial number is fully visible. Note that the last four digits of the serial number have been obscured only in the photo for security. Please refer to detailed photos for an accurate representation of condition.

Movement: 1575 movement runs strong and is keeping time at around +4 seconds per day, last serviced by ABC Watchwerks in 2010 according to the previous owner.

Dial and hands: Tritium hands and matte dial are in excellent condition and have formed a beautiful light cream patina. Date disk is correct and original, silver with open 6's and 9's

Crystal: A new acrylic top-hat crystal was installed by ABC at service and has some light scratches that can be seen in certain light.

Bezel: Friction fit bi-directional bezel rotates smoothly. Service replacement bezel insert with a luminova lume pip has a few light scratches. Forgive the fuzz on the lume pip in a few of the photos.

Crown: Crown screws in with 3 full turns.

Accessories: None, will come with tan Nato shown in the photos.

The Sub is priced at the $4950 on the bracelet. I don't think you'll find a better value in vintage Rolex right now. Open to trade requests also, trade value of the Sub is higher than cash price.

Pricing is via bank wire. PayPal may be an option depending on the buyer as long as the buyer pays the PayPal fees (3%). I will pay for insured shipping to the CONUS only (I will not ship to other countries - please do not ask if I will). I have had hundreds of successful transactions on various watch forums with impeccable references and I would prefer the buyer have some references as well.
