First AP !
Hi boys !
Very happy to say that I have my first AP on the way, after a few Rolex I finally tried on the silver dial 15400 and I was hooked. Is there anything I need to know ? I'm very used to Rolex being built like tanks I'm just wondering if there's something I should know about. Like Omega's 'don't change the date between 10 and 2'. My mindset with Rolex has been to send for service only when needed, it always ended up being cheaper then just sending it in every 5 years even if something happen to break. I'm talking 10 years or so not 20-30. Should I be more careful with the AP ? What about swimming with the AP ? I'm sure this is mostly dumb questions just rather be safe then sorry. |

Congrats, I just made the upgrade from Rolex to AP as well with a 15400!
Don't let the RO's beautiful looks fool you into thinking it isn't tough. I don't think it shows scratches as much as the PCLs on a Rolex does. But it does hurt more when a scratch happens because of the level of finishing on the RO. The RO isn't as water resistant as a Rolex, but I wouldn't hesitate showering or wearing it in the pool with a beer. Something you should know is that your Rolex watches will be seeing a lot of your watch case - because you won't want to take that bad boy off your wrist!

Congrats on the new watch I would be careful with swimming salty waters and beaches. One of the beautiful things of the RO is the contrast between brushed and polished. Some off the polished parts aren't accessible, like in the bracelet so you'll get an dull finish after a while. But hey, watches are ment to be used :) |

Got it. I'll use the Sub for the ocean ! Or maybe a rubber strap ?[/QUOTE]
As far as I know the RO models have 50m WR, that's not a lot, I wouldn't personally but only you can decide |

Congrats and enjoy!
Depending on how you purchased your AP (Boutique vs AD) I would keep in mind sending it back to AP Clearwater for the B1 test for the extra warranty! As for wear - I wear my AP's just like any of my watches. Real Life - scratches happen - I'm just "wrist aware" Have fun with your new AP |
