My "Jules Verne" 233
I've always heard of Paneral, never owned one till now....man, I clearly didn't know what I was missing. The workmanship is truly amazing. I was originally torn between the 177 and the 104, then I came across the 233 I was done, it hit me instantly....then the quest began. I was fortunate to locate this watch right around the corner from where I work (47th St. NYC). I was able to get a slightly worn JV strap in the deal
I must say, I love this watch...I can't stop looking at the time..lol I may have to get it a friend, I think the 249 is calling my name... -Marc Here are a few pics: |

Well, when I went to buy the watch I knew I wanted to add a brown strap. Nothing seemed to hit me in the dealers inventory, then i saw this one on the 249 he was wearing. I asked him what about that one, he said it was a special strap and I said...yes I can see..sold..
Take a read through this link, I couldn't explain it any better: http://panerai.watchprosite.com/show...ost/ti-415161/ |

I think there will be a post following, containing a link to an article once he moderator approves it. Basically the Jules Verne (JV) strap was the first OEM strap released by Panerai, or any other watch manufacture for that matter, to feature nubuck alligator hide. It is called the Jules Vern or JV Strap because it was released with the PAM216 in 2005, the Jules Verne Sealand, to mark the 100th anniversary Jules Verne’s passing.

Looks great. If I ever go back to Panerai, I am all over the 233. BTW, I LOVE that JV strap.

Here is a link that discusses the strap: http://panerai.watchprosite.com/show...ost/ti-415161/ The dealer I bought mine from has a new one (no buckles), my was slightly used...thus it is a bit darker in color. He is not an AD, but is the real deal..you can reach him here: http://www.jemwatch.com/ Ask for Gary. Regards, Marc |
