Which horse to the stable?
Hi everyone,
I currently own a Patek 5164g (slate dial) a JLC Grand Reverso Ultra Thin Duoface Bleu and a Rolex GMT IIc. Looking to add the final piece to my "core four". The choices are: or The ROC Tribute to Italy is a great complement to the current stable. The ROP is just dang gorgeous but competes with my 5146, complication wise (why have an AC and a PC?). What say you? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Unless you need the Business Week complication, then the TTI would be the better all-rounder.
That said, neither are a ‘wrong choice’, and there’s nothing to say you can’t have both an AC and PC. Yes, there’s a certain amount of overlap, but they’re sufficiently different enough to justify having both. |

Whats the price difference between these two pieces that also needs to be taken in consideration and the new perpetual comes with a new movement not a JLC based movement on the chrono and it also comes with the super comfortable AP bracelet

Love the Tribute to Italy ROC -- but out of those 2 -- I would go with the Perpetual calendar --for the uniqueness and complications.
As already said. There's no wrong answer here. They are very different watches at very different price points as well. The blue dial PC is platinum, correct? I like watches with more complications in the collection -- and to me that's more useful than a chrono. Just my 2 Good luck in choosing!!!! |

Wow, great decision to have! I'd grab the RO PC...
Abdullasaif, I believe the Italy is 1/2 as much as the PC, I'm sure the OP can confirm for sure tho. |

I love the tribute to Italy ROC, but the new PC is in a completely different league in all senses. If the price tag for the ss PC doesn't bother you, this would be the obvious pick imho.

Not really a fair comparison when one is almost three times more expensive

+1! No question for me. Both are fantastic, but the PC is truly in a different league.

Perpetual. Maybe consider flipping 5146 for a Patek chrono like a 5980

Thanks for the responses, everyone... seems a clear majority for the PC, but some pretty decent love for the Tribute to Italy too. My biggest concern is that if I go the PC route then its gonna compete for wrist time with the 5146. I would rather have the AC / PC as the foundation piece since adjusting the time can be a hassle. So I am not sure about the two co-existing well... Its a bit easier to startup a chrono after a few weeks off the wrist than an AC / PC would be. Still gotta consider a few more things, but appreciate your feedback. Thanks!

There is such a thing as a watch winder, if date setting is deemed too much of on ordeal.

Any way to pick up the PC RO and flip the 5146 and JLC towards say a 5170? Easy to say when it isn't my wallet
