How much do service prices vary geographically?

Got what I thought a very high estimate ($1,300) to have the authorized Rolex people in San Francisco service my beloved Submariner. Should I get a quote from an authorized service center in a lower-cost city, or just suck it up and have the work done locally here? Thanks for any insight...

Try the Dallas RSC, and my service last year was $600 + parts + tax/shipping.

Welcome! What refernece Submariner? Can you give a breakdown of what they are charging you? Often the service centers will say to replace the hands, dial, bezel insert because they are worn or no longer glow...you can refuse that and just service the movement & replace any worn internal parts. There are also independent watchmakers that will charge less. Can you post a picture of your Sub?

RUSA prices will be nearly the same. We can recommend more down to earth independents who will service your watch, if you like.

Here's what they are quoting:

Full Servicing + internal parts as needed (at least: 2 reversing wheels) $840.00

Crown & Tube $240.00

Crystal $260.00

Dial & Hands -OPTIONAL $700.00

Thanks for the advice, I do want to go with Rolex Service Center, sounds like numbers would be similar in Dallas so think will pull trigger here...
