Nice catch indeed!

BTW, he's a TRF thread about the 16610: http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=334897

Love Louis C.K. and he does wear that Sub all the time:

Nice catch - as has been stated multiple times. Only a true WIS would have gotten that and then, only a true Rolex fanatic WIS with a sharp eye would have caught that.

I nominate you for what could perhaps be an annual award of the the Rolex Fanatic WIS award of 2014.

Just goes to show the timeless quality of many Rolex models, that a new one can be used in a scene from almost 40 years ago. Only the keen eye of a WIS on this site would notice the subtle differences.

that doesn't look like a modern ceramic GMT to me. THe numbers on the bezel are smaller.

Yeah, but they're SS Subs given to them by Chris Rock.

Here's the story behind it (at around the 16:00 minute mark after the 2nd commercial):

Saw Louis CK live in 2012, wearing a Big Pilot (think it was rose gold). Used to wear an LV sub in the latter 2000s in some of his comedy specials. Seems like he's somewhat into watches.

I was just watching this movie and the scene where 1 guy gifts a microwave oven to another guy, only thing is this was new technology. The next scene shows the guy wearing the 18K GMT and I'm thinking 'wrong'......Something like that just destroys the movie for me, I can't watch it anymore.

It makes me crazy when movies do this stuff. Ever see Spy Game with Redford and Pitt? Redford is wearing the same Swiss Army watch in the whole movie, it was a new model when the movie came out in the late 90's or early 2000's. But he is also wearing it during flashbacks to much earlier times, like around Vietnam when the watch never existed. Killed the movie for me, not that it was stellar anyway.

Geez, it's just either product placement or what the prop folks have to choose from in their stock. Don't let it ruin the movie for you.
