I'm not sure what you are referring to, all the 47040 I've seen have had the same second hand and datewheel AS mine ?

The hand looks like it's from the older 42042, and the font in the date doesn't look right. Good spot.

Hmm, you are actually right about the second hand. It must be from a 42042. Stange, I will have to fix that next service. About the date wheel, I'm not sure. I've seen the exact same font on other 47040, while others have a slightly different font. Could VC be using different date wheels in the same model?

Great pictures of these are beautiful watches. My VC OC is about three hours away. I was close to buying a Daytona until I found the VC OC. To me it's the more interesting and better of the two. I started an interesting discussion in the general Rolex forum asking whether anyone would choose the VC over the iconic Daytona. I'm also really liking your elegant VC's.
