A lot of misunderstanding here.
The watch AND it's warranty card are shipped to ADs in a small clear plastic shipping box. The watch is in styro packing and there is a spot for warranty card. The actual GREEN Rolex boxes and booklets are shipped to the ADs SEPARATELY. At the AD when a purchase is made the watch and warranty card go into green Rolex box with appropriate booklets. Not all ADs withhold the warranty cards upon purchase, and I would insist the card be given to me with the rest of the "stuff" regardless of policy or I would cancel the deal and go to another AD. Edit; Here in the Washington D.C. metro area there are NUMEROUS places to purchase a new Rolex. Much more than smaller markets. ADs are a dime a dozen here. |

Conspiracy theories abound. There was one instance that the card had to be sent separately by the same AD as it simply wasn't in the store. Didn't think it was a big deal.

I had to read this 3 times to understand what you're on about. The K is apparently very silent

If the FL chain is Mayor's, quite normal and it won't be two weeks.
More like a month to make sure warranty card is not filled in and then watch returned. |

This thread has been interesting. I have never bought a new watch, a Rolex or otherwise where the warranty card/papers were not supplied at time of purchase. Perhaps it relates to different consumer laws and customer propensity to return goods for refund. It's an interesting area because in most places a buyer cannot return goods for refund simply because they change their mind. Many other brands of course supply a generic warranty card that is filled in by the dealer.

What all this proves is that if you purchase a Rolex from an AD, you never know that the watch may have been sold several times before your possesion and held and perhaps abused for several days by each purchaser before you received it.
This shows that it's wrong to criticize members who demand their purchase be given to them in an unopened plastic coffin with all stickers in place! Hate to be a troll but I had to bring this up. Criticize me if you wish but I believe I am right. |
