Anyone else notice the pressure and water test.... they have the crown guards open. Why?

I have watched this show many times but never saw this. Great post, so interesting to see the crown does all the sealing from water by itself.

Under water, pressure compreses on to the watch, so that means water pressure presses crown even more tighter on case.
So there is no need to tighten crown on case with crown guard for underwater pressure test. edit: sry didnt see it, "Syed117" already assumed how it works in previous post :D |

I can't help but wonder if the general feeling that Panerai testing with the crown lock open, is for worse case scenario? Is this assumption, or word from Panerai?
I really do like the Panerai look, and want to purchase one. Luminor, 44mm (maybe 312). But I can't seem to get a good feeling about dependability and great customer service. It will end up in the pool and ocean, eventually. Any opinions on that would be appreciated. |
