My Buddy Frans
I was home the other night on the weekend and a movie came on that made me think of my good friend Frans.
It was fun watching this movie again, keeping in mind that it was my friend as 'Goldmember' and not Mike Myers (fellow Torontonian). Frans, we give you a lot of stick, but you're okay in my books. |

He was a disgrace as a Dutchman With his German phrases and all. It was the WORST Austin Powers movie of them all Not because of Goldmember though. It was just a rehash of the theme Bah!

But I quite liked the spoof with Gweneth Paltrow as Dixie Normous, Kevin Spacey and Danny Devito as Dr. Evil and Minime and of course Travolta as Goldmember. Cruise was too stoopid, even for that spoof. BTW Frans, you're such a good sport about this, let's you and I go for a schmoke and a paaancake, ugh? Maybe a bong and a blintz? Yes, but they did it! Somehow he got them to do their thing in his movie (or was it a huge fee? But I don't think so. Remember the Muppet Show? Everyone wanted a part in this show!!). A schmoke and a paaancake, ja? He kept saying ja, but we don't use this. The Germans sometimes do.

I also hate making him money, but for now that is the best choice for me. I have not yet taken the plung to digital cable. I have enough shows that I don't have time to watch already, so no need at this point. |

Express Vu is pretty good, but service does tend to get disrupted if a bad storm is passing within about 500 miles of you (seriously). It happens maybe three or four times a year. One cool feature though, if you have call display on your phone... that if youre watching TV and the phone rings, the call display pops up on your TV screen. We dont have call display, but that feature alone is almost worth the cost. |
