It almost brings a pragmatic humility that is, frankly, attractive. It's like Justin Bieber wearing a hoodie. It's still Justin Bieber.

I'm not sure the Bieber reference adds anything compelling to the case.
But thanks for trying. ;)

my daily watch (cheapie) I wear on a NATO. I guess I'm a bit torn to put a rolex on a NATO, I think if I had a Rolex to wear daily, I'd probably end up putting it on NATO too. I definitely find them the most comfortable. Living in a hot environment, nothing beats a nylon strap, and much more adjustable than a standard strap. Also working on the computer most of the day, I like not worrying about scratching the clasp, or the discomfort of having a big clasp under my wrist.

I really like the look of NATOs and would welcome the variety that they bring. However, the thing I don't get about NATOs is the big blob of folded, extra material at the top. Does it look as prominent and wear as cumbersome in real life as it appears to do in photos? Does it prevent the watch from fitting comfortably under the shirt sleeve?

I love nato straps, particularly leather natos.

Not really. You can always trim it if it bothers you.
