14060 / 14060M.... which one?
Hello all,
So I've been doing my reading on the differences between these two variations of this reference only to find out that there seems to be quite a bit to know. It also appears that it has quite a following and people tend to be very specific and quite adamant about which variants they like or want (or donot want!)... things like T <25 versus Luminova, 2 line vs 4 line, modified movement, etc. What do you guys think of the various differences? Which is 'the one to have' in your opinion? Im sure some may even say 114060 and I can definitely see why given all the modern imprivemebts, but for some reason I'm really curious about the 14060s. |

Basically the same watch. The 14060M was cosc certified, so get this one if that matters to you.

It really is a matter of preference. Either one is a great watch but I went with the 14060 because I found one here in Canada and the price was not out of line. 2 liner and with lug holes in the case. Easily one of my favourite watches and a keeper for sure.
Good luck |

I went with the two line 14060 because I like the the less clutter of the two-line,
It may not be COSC certified but it keeps darn near +/- zero, thats not bad for a 1994 watch.

The 14060 and the modified movement (M) 14060M are visually indistinguishable from one another save for minor cosmetics.
Either is a great choice.

Great responses guys, thanks. Keep them coming. Is there a general preference for tritium over Luminova models at all (or vice versa)?

I prefer the two line with lug holes...kind of old school. M or not would not be a deal breaker to me. I like the T<25 but many of them are not glowing anymore if total functionality is a must.

Might depend on the price. If you can get an older 14060 with service history and great price, why not. Otherwise, a 14060m 2 liner may have the more elegant dial than the 4 liner. I think this is resolved as a consideration of price, provenance, service history and personal preference between 2 or 4 line. I wound up buying a 4 line G series because it looked brand new, was relatively new, was guaranteed, box papers etc.. But if I had seen say a 2000 14060 with all of that at the right price I would have bought it. Be a little flexible.

By the way, I haven't seen anyone raving about the lume on any of the 14060 or m. Mine is 2010-2011 it glows beautifully for 5 -10 minutes then fades. ThAt shouldn't make or break your decision.

Not true, only certain Z serials and all of M,V, G, and random serial 14060M are COSC cerified, basically all variotions of 4 liners. There are many variations of 14060M that are not certified ( 2liners) M stands fir modified, and it came about much much earlier then 4 liners. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Tritium should develop a patina over time...others can confirm.

There's something I really like about the Tritium 14060; maybe it's the closer tie in to the older sub models or maybe it's the way it's slowly gaining patina. At any rate it's a great watch. I got mine serviced this past summer so it is warrantied for a couple of years. I could have gotten a new pair of SL hands but decided to keep the originals. It's a great watch... Ultimately any of them will work for years and don't quite fall into the newer jewelry category with which the new subs seemingly want to align.

Yes it's true 'cause I never said all were cosc certified and I didn't even mention 2 or 4 lines. You're welcome to complete infos and this is very normal around here but you don't need to quote me as a step for your supposed watch lesson. So I must be one of those if you say so. |

2007 was the year when Rolex started producing COSC 14060M ( 4 liner) with engraved rehaut As such 14060M Z serials out there could have either a 4 liner or 2 liner Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
