I don't do the gym thing but I walk every day from 30 min to 2 hrs. I could wear my Daytona and use it to time my walk, I guess. But there are way better tools out there for doing that. I use my Garmin Fenix 3 to time and record the walk, including mapping it on Google maps if I want. If you are driving a nail you don't use a screwdriver...

I wear the Platona to the gym every other day when I work out. Mainly elliptical and stretching.

I wear my SS Rolexes to the gym, but the WG Panda Daytona stays home. It's durable etc. , but at the end of the spin session I'm usually pretty spent and don't want to stupidly whack

I cannot understand wearing a luxury watch whilst working out. Metal bars, dumbells, racks, and catches sticking out everywhere and all it takes is for you to swing your arm too close to one before you get an unsightly and annoying scratch or worse.
Putting your watch in your pocket certainly isnt going to help because the bracelet will scratch against the case, while anyone whose ever done weights on a bench knows that theres a point where the weights need to sit on your thighs (which incidentally is where the pockets are). There are specialist watches for the gym - gshocks, suunto, fitbits, etc. And if anyone is still in doubt, there is this guy at my gym. Use to wear his DD all the time (did so for months - maybe even over a year). Then one day he properly smacked it walking past the olympic bar that was resting on the catches. Painful to see and watch. It suffices to say that i havent seen that DD on his wrist in the gym since. Sent from my C6903 using Tapatalk |
