AP Openworks Skeleton 15305ST.OO.1220ST.01

I decided my next piece is going to be the AP Openworks Skeleton --- preferably the steel with a bracelet and looking for early spring. Seems like these are not too easy to find. Any possible leads ... My decision is based on the fact that I have had this one on my short list for some time and it keeps growing on me. I do not own nothing like a skeleton.. My only other AP is the AP ROO Chrono so i am familiar with AP. Most of my pieces are Patek and I do not own any Rolex. I generally like a watch that has a few complications and this one is quite the opposite but it has visual activity and that is a turn on for me.

cant really help but i am in a similar position both with the current and aspirational AP..only i am looking at the RG version on leather

as you say the steel bracelet version is slightly harder to come by, and not at a discount.. the RG leather is slightly more available and even possible to get a discount, meaning the price difference is not massive and imo the warm colour of the RG goes better with the aesthetics of the skeleton

imo any skeleton is a great step up from a ROO..to something more dressy but more interesting than a plain dial 3 hander

i can certainly see the appeal to the gold version. There is a bit better contrast and you are correct about the cost differential. I just prefer steel--I don't wear my gold watches as often for no specific reason.

Are you looking for one new or preowned? Im sure if you put a feeler out with David or thanh they can find you one. They pop up from time to time.

Also keep in mind it's expected the 15305 will be 41mm going forward. I still prefer the 39mm size though. Point being, if you want brand new, better hurry!

Love the watch and if it wasn't for the price I would have one already

I agree. AP ROs are getting larger. I prefer the 39mm size for ROs so I bought the 15305 last year. The steel version is harder to get compared to the RG version. I chose the steel version for the beauty and versatility of the bracelet. Try contacting the AP boutique or one of our trusted sellers here. Good luck!

Looks like AP is showing teasers of the new 41mm skeleton on their Facebook page. Appears to have flipped the balance bridge and might be gold. Can't wait till Monday to see what else is released at SIHH.

I have a small wrist so would likely prefer the smaller dial. I am fine with preowned if in pristine shape. I need a couple more weeks to make sure I will have the funds

I picked up my SS Openworked from Thanh this past October. The most aesthetically pleasing watch I own. I had considered buying a RG OW but I decided on the SS version as I knew it would get more wrist time than the RG. You won't be disappointed with either one.

How is the visibility of the hands against the skeleton.

It is a shame they are bumping up to 41mm. For us small wrist guys (6.5") I assume the lugs of the case will be hanging over.

It definitely takes a little bit of getting used to with the hands against the busy skeleton background but after a couple of days, it becomes a non issue.

6.5 is still ok, a 41 will look slightly big but should be ok, I am 6.9 and do prefer 39mm RO's but 41mm RO's are still ok...

Would be nice if both options were available. I know that is usually not the case. I have larger wrists but certainly see your point.

I was told they are being sold in boutique only. ADs used to receive them, maybe thats why its harder to find at AD now.

Man 15305st is definitely a perfect choice. You know why? I paid deposit last year and still waiting for mine to drop this year. AP rep was saying that the stainless versions got over-ordered a lot so it is pretty hard to get one. IF you see one at boutique just buy it! And looks like the 39mm version might stop, it would bring the value of this classic size even higher.

Personally i love the ss version. It can master any occasion or event:D Happy Hunting

That's actually the latest openworked model in 41mm. It replaces the 39mm model. A beauty. 👍

Does anyone have any idea when this piece will be available? Also will ADs get or only boutiques?
