112 Reserve Question

Would appreciate thoughts on the following: I bought a BNIB 112 this past Friday. I gave the crown 30 full winds Friday evening, and the watch stopped by about 1:00 PM the next day. Saturday evening, I gave the crown a full winding, to the point where I felt resistance in the crown. Sunday afternoon, I gave the crown a few additional winds. The watch stopped at approximately 2:00 AM Monday morning.

I though a full winding would give me 48-72 hours. Should I be concerned? Take it back to the AD?

According to Paneraisource.com you should get 56 hours out of it.

Not sure what you mean by "felt resistance". When you first wind it is really easy then gets progressively harder. At the end, you can't wind anymore (it stops). 30 winds doesn't seem like a full wind on a luminor b/c the crown guard gets in the way.

Can you describe your "felt resistance" comment more?

a full wind on a luminor is much more than 30 winds. I count upwards of 80 or more on any of them that I've owned. Good luck

Sure, and thanks for your interest and willingness to help.

Perhaps "resistance" was inartful. The further along I got, the more "difficult" the winding became. At some point, I noticed that, upon completion of an individual wind, the crown would seemingly rotate (ever so slightly) in the opposite direction from which I was winding it.

Is that any clearer?

I should add that I never reached a point at which I could not wind any further. If getting the full 56 hours requires winding until the crown can wind no further, then I have yet to do that.

Thanks. I'll give that a try.

Appreciate the advice. I am new to Panerai (only Rolex to this point), so I have lots to learn. That said, I love the style, dimension and simplicity of the 112.

Fully wound crown means you literally can't rotate it further , you will snapped it if you use too much force.
