YM as daily wear

Like many others I am having a difficult time deciding on which reference to get. This will be my first rolex purchase.
My favorite after trying many on at this point is 116622 with blue dial.

It seems that every other post comments on how the bezel is a scratch magnet along with the PCLs
While I dont need/want it to stay pristine, i'd prefer that it didnt look like it has been dragged behind my truck 3 mos after getting it.

I was curious how many have YM as a daily wearer and if you could post some pics so I may get an idea as to how scratched it may get...

I think anyone who has to worry about wearing a Rolex or any other luxury watch as a daily wear should stick to buying/wearing Casio or Timex.

Perhaps get one as a beater? Preferably one without PCL (Explorer, Sub, etc) and then you can wear the YM on special occasions, weekends and stuff. Just a thought.

my advice is to get the watch you desire. i would strongly advise you look at the rolesium version instead of the blue dial.

center links brushed or polished shouldnt make or break the purchase. and fwiw the watch still looks great with scratches.

I've been daily wearing my YM blue since I bought it late '14. That watch has been through hell and back and I love it even more! I will post pics later on but it's not as scratched as it should be

5 months in and still loving mine as a daily watch. The bezel can get scratched but not as easy as people say. Only scratch on my bezel is from my crazy puppy so I think it holds up just fine. Enjoy whatever you pick

I have never owned one but would imagine it will eventually look a lot like the bracelet did on my GmtIIc after a few years of daily wear. I don't have the watch anymore so can't show and tell but it still looked great after 3 months. Eventually though all watches show wear, some more than others.

Are you in a suit during the week or out and about getting your hands dirty?

Some members here manage to keep thier gold watches pristine while others manage to scratch the hell out of thier SS watches. It's all a function of the wearer at the end of the day.

I wore the t daily for 9'years as a daily watch that included scuba diving and going to gym. Seldom off my wrist and I can't remember ever getting a scratch on the bezel.

I buy all my watches with intent of daily wear, regardless.
Buy what you like, wear the heck out of it and enjoy it.
Life is truly way too short and in the end, it will all seem trivial.

I am in healthcare and only wear a suit/tie 1-2 days/week

The rolesium bezel is on the blue and platinum dial versions, isn't it? (Not disputing, just confirming).

These things are meant to be worn and enjoyed, you can always get it fixed up when serviced . People tend to regret not doing things or enjoying things in order to keep them for best and barely using them more than having them show signs of wear

The YM bezel blasted surface ofcourse can scratch, but it's not a magnet.
Mine holds up pretty good. If it does scratch and bothers you there are some independent watchmakers who can fix it for little cost.

well that's pretty judgemental. but ok.

to the OP: I too have had questions about what to wear, and when. I think it is a reasonable thought process in a world filled with endless judgemental people.

in my many many conversations about this with endless people, I have come to terms with the fact that some will have issues with what you are wearing and some will have issues with what you are not wearing.

do what you do, and all will be ok.
