FP Journe Chrono Bleu Incoming pics

Picked this up 2 days ago and the blue of the dial is truly pretty and very difficult to photograph. It has to be seen in different light

The tantalum metal is interesting as its bluish in cour as self winding has a fairly low profile.

I am giving the strap the benefit of the doubt as it may need a few days to settle I would definitely have prepared something a bit padded. Find it a bit stiff and thin at the moment. Otherwise it fits fine on the wrist and is comfortable.

Still need to get used to the self wind. It has stopped twice as I don't seem to have wound it enough. with over 50 hours PR I thought just 15 turns in the morning would be enough. Obviously not so guess better read the instruction manual

By “self wind” you presumably mean ‘manual wind’?
It’ll need much more than 15 turns – at least 30-35.

Yes I am a twit. It's manual wind. I think someone said 35 to full and then 15 a day but not sure.

Website states 38 for fully wound state to be achieved – so I wasn’t out by much.

Thanks for making me check the website. It's actually handier than I thought on the technical side. I had avoided it as I don't think it was particularly user friendly

Yes. Obviously a waiting list. I think they make more than they say. If it was launched in 2009 and I have u
number 900 gives you an idea on production numbers

Assumes sequential numbering for a start, but otherwise that’d be roughly 150 per annum – which is about 700 less than they produce annually, of all their models.

I had a May delivery and was moved up when the first 2 on the list hadn't arrived to view it.

Congrats! It's a modern classic. 60 winds does it for me (though something like 3/4 winds, not full winds). It's a beauty, I wore mine today and fell asleep with it on it's so comfy on the wrist. For different strap ideas, try the FP Journe boutique. Some people like it on tan and camel straps. I've even seen it on green and red. Enjoy!

Nice watch congrats - are these rare? I tried one on a while ago in London at Williams and Son and they were offering me a discount on it.

Wear it in good health.

CB use to be readily available but I noticed supply tightening up ever since the Hodinkee video that praised it so much. Seems demand has picked up and supply is relatively restricted. Much like a 5711, easily had just have to wait a few weeks, months or get lucky.

Edit: if you want new from AD.
