Incoming! Where is my waistcoat...

Hi all,

Following the addition of an Atmos clock, here is another strange addition!

I think it is a lovely way to tell the time and has a great ticking noise. It is a Silver Wempe pocket watch from around the 1920s. Has a power reserve of about 30 hours and a Swiss made movement.

So if you are looking for a desk timepiece as well as a portable watch - this could work!

I will probably add a sundial next?!

Cheers
Anuj

Awesome, Anuj! I love pocket watches (and waistcoats), although I have none. How's the timekeeping on that old boy?

Thanks Dave! It is going pretty well so far, only had it for a day but it is pretty spot on. The power reserve has impressed me!

I recommend getting a vintage pocket watch as long as it is in good condition and running strong you should be ok. They are very cheap these days relative to wristwatches and it is good fun! Then you can get a waistcoat too

I was considering getting a new pocket watch but they all mostly have the same cheap Chinese movement in and you are just paying for the brand/case etc rather than the movement. So I went vintage and happy so far.

I'm a fan!

I have my Grandfathers pocket watch collection. The Hamilton I used at my wedding too. The gold set are "his-n-hers" and need overhaul... Maybe I'll tear one down for fun.
