ADs in the Toronto area are starved for SS sport models. May be hard to come by certain models. I wouldn't expect to find many GMTs or SUBs anywhere you go, but I bet you will find explorers and yachtmasters.

I would check out DC Taylor's in collingwood. Give them a call, great little AD. May actually have something in stock.

In the GTA, I will rank the ADs based solely on my personal experiences with them.. This includes their stock, willingness to work on price, customer service etc.

1. Damiani Jewellers
2. Raffi
3. Royal De Versailles
4. Humbetown.

I've never been to LA difference time, or to Knarr Jewellers in Oakville so I did not include them.

Knarr is great and I would second the Damiani recommendation.

DC Taylor is excellent as well as Damiani. DC Taylor currently has ZERO stock on SS Sport models.

Knar is excellent, had a few ss subs when I was in there last. Ahsley Jeweller's at LimeRidge in Hamilton has quite a few as well. There is a also a small shop, National Jewelers in Niagara Falls Canada that has some as well. Was in there this week. Call any of these places and they will let you know what they have.

I have not dealt with Knarr, so I can't speak about them. But Damiani is definitely #1 for me for their willingness to negotiate, and overall customer service. La Difference, from my experience wouldn't be able (or unwilling) to match the discounts that Damiani, and even Raffis would give you. Especially in a cash deal.

I've had great experiences at both Ashley Jewellers in Hamilton and Knar in Oakville. Knar is closer to Toronto and usually has a nice selection. I would call both to see if they have what you're looking for.
Good luck!!

I am looking for a good deal on my first Rolex, a SS Submariner, and since I'm in the Boston area I wonder if it's worth a ride up there to buy one or if I can buy one and have it shipped down for the same great conversion rate. Any thoughts or suggestions here, I could really use some advice. Thanks.

Terrible experience with raffi. They just renovated at Yorkdale and I went to see the PM models in a closed off room and I was told I had to be accompanied by one of their staff and they kicked me out of the room. Wouldn't deal with these guys. As far as prices go, you can do much better than them too.

Long story short ended up getting my watches elsewhere. Check out Damiani and Knar

Why don't you just call the AD in Montreal and ask: A) if they have one, and B) if they'll hold it for you if you put a deposit down. Seems like a very simple, logical idea.

A legitimate question. Yes I did call an AD and they are sold out of them and not sure when they are coming in. He wouldn't guarantee the price even if I gave a deposit. I wonder if some of this is due to not having a relationship, just not sure

I concur with this ranking based on my own personal experience. Humbertown being the worst by far if you are unlucky enough to deal with the owner.

To be honest with you it's deathly not worth coming up to Canada myself I'm looking to buy in the US, because there is absolutely no stock. There under pressure by Rolex Canada not to sell to American shoppers and that's why we're having a price hike in mid March. Frankly they're trying to alienate people especially those that near the border Americans really. But they're also doing a great job at upsetting local buyers . Soon as the price hike goes into afact there will be tons of stock and we will be taken to the cleaners on the price great work Rolex . As I stated previously in a post Grand Seiko is looking better and better and that will be the next watch I buy as I promised in my last post.
