I am about to get my first Rolex and I have decided on the 116200. However I'm struggling to decide in the colour and bracelet, silver vs black vs white vs blue and oyster bracelet vs jubilee

Silver and black probably appeal more but can't decide on the one

I have read oyster is the one to get with 116200 but scratches easily. Would the jubilee look really bad?

Unlikely to be able to buy another Rolex so need to get this right, would be grateful for any advice, opinion.

I prefer the stick dials on the 116200 and like all four colours you're considering. I also like this reference with either bracelet

I think of black dials as more casual, light dials (silver/white) as more formal. Similarly I think of the Oyster as more casual and the Jubilee as more dressy.

It may help to consider your work/lifestyle to ensure a good match, but my favourite combinations for this reference are a dark dial with jubilee or light dial with oyster. This kind of balances the formal/dressy tendencies and results in a well balanced package (IMHO).

I have the 116234 (fluted bezel) with silver stick dial + oyster and it's honestly the most beautiful thing out there.
The dial changes color depending on the light going from all white to beige and champagne.
And if it's going to be your only Rolex, I'd definitely opt for Oyster, which is more suitable in any occasion.

I tried on a silver stick fluted on an oyster at an AD a few weeks ago and it is a beauty,, but I wouldn't rule out a white stick dial either.

Though I also like the white stick with smooth bezel.
The more I see the White dial, the more I like it.
I think the silver will always be classic, with an enduring beauty. Bling it up with flutes and jubilee or tone it down with smooth and oyster.
The same with the white, though it almost has a sporty twist to it, and the red date is a nice surprise every other day.
I would be very happy with a white stick on an oyster. Not so common.

Great idea, I love the 116200! I will always prefer the jubilee on a datejust. It was specially made for the watch - I mean you gotta get it! Plus the oyster bracelet scratches like crazy.

As for the dial, I prefer white. I went with Romans, but stick is beautiful as well (plus you get lume)! Although a very close second would be the silver stick.. Gorgeous as well. Not to crazy about black, does pop like the other options and can be a bit hard to read.

The blue dials cannot be beat. They're stunning. I'd go for a stick dial, smooth bezel with oyster bracelet

Oyster and Jubilee both are great; get which you like the best. Blue dial with stick is a great dial!!! Really any dial looks good.
