I did go to Joseph's, and they took $8000 out the door. I feel like I did well, thanks everyone! |

I would still opt for the $400+ discount from a trusted seller on TRF whether BNIB or pre-owned.
Congrats to the OP on the new SubC. |

Welcome to forum Wes, congratulations 🎉.
Great choice on a classic model. Buying your first from an AD is cool. If you decide to add to the collection down the road you can check with a trusted dealer as you can generally save a few bucks and it's very convenient and easy. Enjoy that new Submariner 👍🏻

Congratulations! And that is a really good price. I would've done the same and bought from the AD 1000x over than to save a relatively measly amount buying off the internet. You get the watch instantly, you get the bracelet sized properly for you, and peace of mind most of all if something somehow goes wrong.

Go with the AD. It may cost a bit more but you will establish a relationship which will come in handy for adjustments etc. also you very well may get more off your next one which could make up any difference in cost now

It is so wierd, that you have never been into a Jewelry store, let alone a Rolex AD! I mean all of a sudden one day, for some reason, this cornfield guy, you...lol, wants to buy a Rolex Watch!
It is so out of the ordinary, that you and I, and many others, have similar stories where at some point in our lives, it is just the thing that us as men need to do. Congrat's on a beautiful Piece, and an experience that will last you a lifetime...!

Congrats! I've bought a few watches from them. I received great discounts from them, then no tax when shipped out of state.

Seems like a great price, if there is tax that is another chunk. The AD experience can be nice but having the experience twice, it isn't worth the premium over gray market and pre-owned. If you think you will keep the first one then going AD might be worth it. In the end you are looking at most $1500 difference so probably not enough to sweat it over if you are spending this much on a watch anyway. Just enjoy!
