Denagnetise?

Hello,
In in a quandary, my dd was running around 8 seconds a day fast, so I took back to the seller who did whatever he did with it and now it runs about 5 secs a day fast. I'm really not too troubled by that as its 25 yo as I've already said in previous Threads.

BUT tonight I lowered over a compass and the compass dial turned. I tried it a few times and it keeps happening.
SO if I demagnetise and it sorts things out, will this then make it run too slow given that it has been tweaked to run a bit slower than it had been.

Sorry if I'm confusing but to summarise.

Watch was running too fast so seller regulated to slow it down.
Watch us magnetised so if I demagnetise will it go to pre magnetised state and start running slow?

Help😬

My AD's watchmaker always degausses my watches before he takes them in for regulation.

So far, none of my watches have been magnetized.

My view is that it cannot hurt to degauss your watch.

If it starts to run slow, take it back to the person who regulated it and tell him what's going on.

Good point, does any movement it the compass dial signify that it's magnetised. Reason I ask is that somebody said if it was magnetised the watch would run really fast and kit just a few seconds?
The compass dial moves just slightly.

My wife only nags me when I buy a new watch. I too will stay nagnetised.

Nagnetism is why I divorced my second wife. I felt life was moving too fast...

There also used to be great TV series about this called "Nagnet" from the 1960's.

I also recommend Bose Noise Cancelling headphones for this problem.

Will be coming to the UK end of June...staying in Northleach 3 nights, in between Manchester and Liverpool for 2, then up to Scotland for 3 nights in Edinburgh, back to London for a night and home.

Have been before and I totally love Brits!

Good on you, you've seen more of Blighty than me.
I bet you'd love Cornwall in the south west closer to you if your swimming the Atlantic but I bit of a long road trip from London.

I keep threatening to go to the states but I hate flying. Maybe next year if I can pluck up the courage.

It happened once to one of my watches, started running like +8 minutes per day. (the watch will only slightly move a compass needle). I had it demagnetized myself with the help of an unit purchased on Ebay for just a few dollars; very easy to do!

Become an upscale grockle and enjoy the English Country House experience by going to stay at the Horn of Plenty just outside Tavistock for a few days. You would be only a few easy driving miles from Cornwall.
