The way I understand the New Warranty card is that it is only used to re-order another of the same watch from Rolex. The magnetic strip doesnt hold any information from the original purchaser.
This whole thing is pretty frustrating from a informed consumers standpoint. When you look at it there isnt 1 Rolex that isnt sold from a AD, ever! The AD's are forced to buy a Large inventory of watches from Rolex each year or loose there distributorship. Its obvious they cant sell what they buy every year at or near retail. Thats what has created the back door sales, grey market and trusted sellers. Rolex knows this and IMO endorses it because they move more product. Who ends up getting the short end of the stick? Why of course we do if we need warranty work and it isnt honored. Thats why you see the term "buy the seller" alot around here. Sometimes Rolex makes good on there warranty and other times they dont. Depends on which RSC you use, how they feel that day etc. Its a game we have to play for the way they choose to operate there business. 99% of the Rolex buying people have no clue. Its just us here that realize this because of our passion for Rolex watches. |
