Rolex GMT internal damage!

https://milwaukee.craigslist.org/jwl/5526249054.html

I have a friend who thinks this would be a bargain to pick up. I personally disagree. Does anyone have a safe bet on what the repair cost may be? Thanks forum!

"You can hear internal components rattling"

Can your friend have a watchmaker check it out first?

I'm not a buyer above $999. Full service plus countless parts plus bracelet, I don't want to be over the price of a properly maintained used watch.

With water damage it is possible that Rolex would salvage only the case.

"My watch filled with water and parts are loose in the movement..." Come on man only an idiot would pay 3.5k for that...

You're crazy to even look at it, an entire movement will run you about 4 k that is if there isn't any major damage to the case and you don't even know that. Just buy yourself a new watch and call it a day

With that resolved, it's up to your friend to decide if it's worth $3,500 plus whatever the repair cost would be.
