What do you guys think of the 104?
Today I went to visit some jewelry stores, to see what they had in stock. Just general perusing. I struck up a conversation with the manager of one, about Rolex GMT's, and Submariners.
Unfortunately, they weren't an AD - but were hoping to get some Rolexes in at some point (hoping to become an AD, I suppose). I brought up Panerai's, as they had a few on display. I mentioned I really liked the Luminor Marina, and the manager said he had something he thought I might like. He went to the back, and brought out the Panerai 104 that he'd had in the safe. I was truly taken aback! It's really something. I tried it on, and it just looked, and felt amazing. I could literally feel the quality. He said that he would only get in 3 this year, that they were very much in demand. I was just curious about your guys' thoughts on this particular model, and if you've any information about it you could share, as I'm now highly curious. Thanks! |

wow great catch, from an asthetic's point of view I love the simpleness of the 104, it has everything I need from a watch....you should check out the official panerai website, theres plenty of information there....
well, from where I've been and come from its hard to get unless like all things you are ready to pay a premium, if the seller is selling at RRP then I would jump at the chance!! (thats me anyways!!) |

The 104 is pretty much the Flagship of the Panerai lineup. The Manager of the BHB told me that the 104 is actually their most requested model. Panerai produces more of that model than any of their other models, and they all sell.
Sounds like you like it and should get it. I have a 221 (which by the way is for sale due to financial reasons) and it is basically a 104 with a SS bracelet and combination TT/SS case. But the dial is the same, and I think it is a great dial. Matte finsish and great lumination. You will not be dissapointed with the 104! |

I have a 104 and I love it...I have 5 different straps for it and being able to change the straps whenever it strikes me and to be able to in a matter of minutes (J model) is a plus...

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm thinking about it! I didn't realize it would jump out at me that much - but it just looked spectacular in my hands, and on my wrist. I have the urge to see it again, so I'm going to go back this evening.
