16570 explorer ii
I went from the black bay to instead looking to get a 16570 as a daily beater. Any advice on what year I should be looking for? Was this the latest one before being discountiued? Lastly black or white?

The new 42 mm Explorer II was released in 2011. As far as black or white - what speaks to you? I have the 216570 that I originally purchased with a black dial and I just recently sourced a white dial to switch it up.

Polar
A,p,k,y serials are available with both SEL and lugholes. As a travel watch / beater I like to swap out bracelet as conditions dictate, lugholes make that easy. I have a 'P'

The ones with RolexRolexRolex rehaut were equipped with the 3186 movement if that is a consideration. The very last had thinner WG surrounding the markers so they look slightly different. Since the 16570 was around for a long time you can also get a lugholes case and tritium dial.

The year is not important . It you want tritium before 98, with luminova after.
Mine is from the year 2005 |

The true tool watch. Great choice! Just look for a crisp example and you'll be happy. Post pics when you get it.

A p k y have sel and lugholes...all newer serials starting within the Y serial production run, have SEL without lugholes.
