Bit of a mislead post. I'm willing to bet all inbound daytonas are spoken for and cold calls will be returned with standard 2017 responses

Cannot see why all the fuss its just push on a ceramic insert and retro 1990s dial change its not like its a new watch I stated many times it would be available May or June.

I agree with Peter too much hype. It is striking how high is the price on the classifieds here for one of them (MSRP x 2). Great watch nonetheless.

The fuss is that there are thousands of us who love the form factor of a chronograph, love our Speedmaster's, but did not like the look of the last Daytona. I, for one, did not like the steel bezel, did not like the reflective dial registers. Looked less like a tool watch and more like a bling-fest.

The new Daytona takes a lot of the bling away, restores a contrasting bezel, and hits that sweet spot we've been waiting for. Looks less like a Yachtmaster and more like a Submariner. I'm willing to bet this Daytona appeals to the hardcore Submariner owner who is dying for something fresh to step into. I know I am.

So it's a big deal for a lot of us. Might be subtle to existing Daytona owners. It's a big deal for those who never warmed to it.

Agree.. It's the same watch with a new bezel. Nothing has changed Beside a bezel and dial for the white.

Would agree to a point but if they had just put on the black aluminium insert and bezel like on the 6263 when the Daytona was first launched it would IMHO have been a far better looking watch. In today's age of mainly very pampered watches I see no need of expensive ceramic,my 6263 bezel is 34 years old yet no scratches and no fade.

With the premium some will (are) want for the first ones for resale you may be closer than you think!! Don't you already have a Platona? That would be a a nice sibling to the DD if not.

Not that this watch will sell below MSRP but just saying there is no reason to pay above that. Rolex will make and distribute a ton of these, you'll see.

I still want one though! lol

Am I the only one who can't make up his mind about which one to buy? I will swallow my own words about not buying a Daytona.

I am number #1 at my AD and number #4 at my other AD but not the boutique. I called both of them and they don't know the release date.

I called them this morning and they think they are getting a couple more in a week or two.

And yes, if they get them they are already spoken for.

Confirmed: cermaic daytona arrived and FOR SALE

Congratulations to Deutsch & Deutsch!
It really says something about your boutique when Rolex sends you the first Ceramic Daytona's in the World. Good Work!

Building a relationship with an AD you like and trust can have advantages especially in when it comes to acquiring hard to get and new release watches. IMHO

I am looking forward to getting a call when my watch arrives!
