You never missed anything buddy. I never mentioned those details in the thread. I love my Rolex too, so we're on the same boat. I just like a little diversity in the collection. An AP is a fine timepiece, especially that bracelet!

Polish job was pretty bad in regards to the lug details but it's ok. The bracelet is in great shape.

I paid $4,600 for a mint, 2 line Swiss made, a year and a half ago. I put no value into the "Swiss" dial. Just a point of reference for you. |

I also have a "Swiss" dial (16700). There's not much value in that, but it is a nice difference. I'd wait for a chip or a service before replacing the crystal. The polishing on this watch does give me pause.

It is a nice piece but you can see it was just polished IMPO, has a scratched crystal, no service history, the bracelet looks okay to me not bad on the stretch but if you paid top dollar you should not have those issue's and a receipt for a recent service lots of pieces that are priced at top end do have that. For those reasons I would return it and move on I think you could do way better for a top dollar piece. Just my personal opinion. Good Luck..

I you do return it I'd recommend finding one that has the correct kit (i.e. box, manuals, etc...). As you noted that is not the right box for an A serial Rolex. That box & cushion was introduced in the mid-2000s.
It would be like the one in this pic that I grabbed online. |

Thanks for the replies guys. I have already returned the watch this morning, I posted a few posts back and I have no regrets.
