Selfish much?
That's incredibly selfish.
Why not leave a positive legacy instead of a greedy one? These are precious heirlooms for family - immediate or extended. If the family does not want/exist, why not auction them for your favorite charity? Or your University? Of course it's your choice... |

I'll pass most of my watches on to the kids, but I have thought more than once about taking the YGDD with me.
It's corrosion resistant (gold), and by my back of the envelope calculations, it should withstand the pressure 6 feet under. If some future archaeologist digs me up I hope that the watch gets put in a museum. I might even get my epitaph engraved on the case back. |

Once I'm gone it won't matter much to me. I'm sure some family member will grab them.

I have seen many people laid to rest. Never seen anything of value other than memories placed in there coffin with them. The odds of a loved one putting your Rolex in there with you are very very slim. Death, money and valuables are usually a very contentious time for all concerned when a loved one passes away.

Me too. I hope to pass some along while I am still alive so I can see their enjoyment.

I have no one to leave my watches to, so I may let my daughters pick what they want and donate the rest to a charity of their choice.

I don't have a son only a daughter and she's not into watches so I told my wife to contact Tony Geha-Justrolexes when I drop & he'll sell them for her. Take the money and do with it what you want. Enjoy.

I recently inherited my uncle's Rolex 1005, and it truly makes me think of him every day. I would much rather have my uncle back however. I have NEVER been a watch wearer, and in fact I felt they were useless since we all have cell phones. The watch was on his wrist for the wake, and it was given to me before the burial.
Ever since his passing, I have worn the watch almost daily and I love every minute of it. Lately I feel odd when I don't have the watch on. In fact the enjoyment of his watch has prompted me to start looking for another Rolex......thankfully I have a supportive wife. |

Pretty much can guarantee before that lid gets nailed shut someone is going to remove those watches.
What, like your gonna bitch about it to the management afterwards???? Honestly wouldn't blame em either. IMHO I just can not see the point, but to each his own I suppose. |

We don't have kids, so they go to the wife. She has contact info for my watch smith to sell them if she chooses.
If we both go at the same time, then everything goes to my pot smoking nephew. Only "kid" in the whole family. I have educated him on the value of a good time piece but not sure he will remember...he smokes a lot of weed. In fact gave him a nice Hamilton to wear in high school. I have visions of him trading my gilt Sub for a couple of ounces. I love him very much and have certainly tried to intervene and influence some of his life choices, but he is yet to listen. Hopefully I will live long enough to see him "grow" up. In the end I will be gone anyways so his choice on what he does with his inheritance.

Mine will have the caseback engraved with some last words "where is my beer", "be on time", "is your bedroom clean ?" and will go with the offsprings.

Persuade a watchmaker to join you in the tomb. There's probably a lot of people with watches that need work. #eternity #nile_rsc

I'd leave mine to some of the many good people here long before getting buried with them.

I plan on giving with "warm hands" my entire collection to my son, except keeping one watch for me to ride out my days. Then when "my time" comes, I'll leave my last watch again to my son.

I'll leave mine to my kids if they want them. If they don't then they can do with them as they please.
