Experts weigh in on this 1675
Hey folks. I've been on the hunt for a 1675. I'm still learning a ton and figuring out what I like. Here is one I'm seriously considering and wondering what you experts think:
Single owner, 3.4 mill, all original. Service history unknown but running COSC. Here are the pics: |

Fantastic MKII.
Nice patina, matching hands and a superfat case. Period correct dial, insert, caseback and bezel. Bracelet seems to be a 78360 with 580 endlinks. Periodcorrect would be 7836 with 280 endlinks (but that's no deal breaker). If price is acceptable I would go for it. Great example IMO!!!!!!!!!! |

Thanks buenosdias.
Actually, and forgot to mention, the bracelet in pics is an aftermarket. Would be a head only sale. 8k. |

Overall a nice watch, but I'd pass based on that case. It looks like it has seen some interesting polishing...

Very nice example. I think some of you are being overly critical of the case. While it has undoubtedly been poorly polished in the past, the case retains the original beveled edges and looks to be quite thick. Nothing a skilled polisher can't correct.
$8,000 is fair. Figure a period correct bracelet will run you around $1,000. Michael |

This is a beautiful watch. The insert is super fat font with excellent fade. Like others have mention the case can b corrected quite easily. If u can negotiate down the price, u got a winner IMO.
I blame it on the autoconnect. |

Maybe I personally would spend her a new diagonal-finish on the top of the lugs and that's it. 7.5k - 8k seems ok for head only. Go for it and enjoy! |

I agree with Seb - looks great to me. Case not over- or badly- polished to my eye.

That lug at 5 o'clock position has been waaayyy over done on its top (compared to the others I can see in pics).
Prolly removing a deep dent - but if you're ok with that, then go for it. As for the rest, it looks good on surface. If you can have some things checked beforehand (because service records don't exist) - check the tube and stem for oem, internals and crystal too. Sometimes owners have service done by independent watchmakers without a Rolex parts account.

Thanks, Guys. Great comments and love the varied opinions. I think it will be a keeper. I'll know more when it is on the wrist. Cheers.

Stunning 1675 and "french venom bleed" mk2 dial.
$8k is fair for this beauty. For a 44 year old watch, it's in very good condition. |

Shouldn't 3m series gmt have open 6/9 silver disc? Date wheel is not show stopper anyway.

Drop dead stunning 1675! Apart from the slight overenthusiastic polish job on the right lower lug, everything else is just perfect. Glad you didnt pass up on it. Would love to see some wrist shots.
