3186 Odd Sound + Stopped
My trusty GMT IIc has stopped, won't start with a 40 - 50 winding. Noticed rotor sounds as though it is freely rotating. My initial assumption is the Parachrom spring has broken. Any experiance by others members ?

As mentioned, it sounds like your mainspring may be broken, or at least disconnected. Give it a few shakes and see if the seconds hand takes a tick forward or backward. If it does that means it's not really connected to anything - broken mainspring.
