I have had almost all my pieces one time or another in a hotel safe I have seen no issues. Have fun and if you get a sub please share pics.

Lost the combo to a safe on a cruise ship.
(Same as in most Hotel Rooms)
Pursur staff had an instruction manual for opening.
Took about two minutes.
Conclusion--Safe of that type is good to keep your spare paper clips in.

i travel almost every week through ME and Asia. Every-time use hotel safes and leave there my passport, money and watch if needed. so far for last 15 years never experienced anything including demagnetization of the watch so in my humble opinion should be Ok.

Not actually sure. Think it costs $15 and has cable to affix to a solid point. Don't laugh. of course it's not going to survive a concerted attack but it will hopefully be enough of a hassle to just leave behind!

Agree! It would likely stop someone that gets into your stuff when you are not in the room!

Worst case scenario, it's very easy to demagnetize a watch. I purchased demagnetizer and did so several times with no issues

Hotel safes are probably the most unsafe places for valuables in the world.

just got back from the jewelers...while there, I overheard a newbie customer asking the salesperson if microwaves emitted from a smart phone affect the calibration of his Rolex.

what planet are these OCD Rolex dweebs coming from?

Everyone has to start somewhere I guess He may not possess the same level of knowledge you do but the only way for him to begin that learning process is to ask questions.

Us folks on the forum know a lot more than the average person interested in these items. That likely left a good opening for the sales person to explain the mechanical movement, show him a picture of one from the catalog, and inform him of the new standards of -2 / +2 seconds per day

Hotel safe may be better than not putting it there. Or not. But I can't imagine it hurting your watch.
