I have really tried to like the Day Date.. I know it's a Rolex Flagship watch…
It's just not for me.

Not a fan of the YM either.

How about branching out? Either a Milgauss, Explorer 1 if you *must* stay with Rolex. Or.. AP, Omega (Speedy Pro) or a Zenith El Primero.
I know its kinda similar to subs, turns out the sub is my favorite Rolex design.
So all good there...
Actually did look again at AP RO and ROOs and revisited PP Aquanaut.
Milguass and explorer 1 not really for me. I did already own an explorer ii.
Currently moving in direction of PM watches. Though I do like some of the AP
and Richard Mille (RM 11) titaniums. And PP 5164 rose gold will be something.
I don't know what it is about Rolex, but I always seem to look around at many brands
and end up with a Rolex…LOL..

Not into vintage unless I found a "deal" on a Vintage 6264 or Comex 1680.
But that would be more of an investment...

Watches on my wish list non-Rolex
PP 5164 rose gold
PP 5711/1r
PP 5980/1r (I like two tone 5980 - that blue dial, oh my).
AP ROO Novelty rose gold.
RM 11 titanium and rose gold (like them both).

Most of these are currently out of my budget though (or not available in the case of 5164 rg).

Thanks for taking the time to make some suggestions

We have similar tastes Bryant, I like most of those too. And the 5164r is available now.

I would go with the YG GMT. They are very reasonable in the second hand market and you can put it on a Rubber B or Everest Strap and get the same look. You can also leave it on the YG bracelet, which is a work of art, and have an all gold model.

One of my favorites by far! With the option for both bands it's very versatile!

Rose Gold...

How about the sky dweller in RG.

You will love the feel - very similar to your smurf, but a little larger.

It will also be very different compared to your other watches as well.

great feel and great presence...It will look like mine but more "Rose Gold-ish"

This watch is very comfortable having tried on the perfect sizing at the AD.

(The other contender was the YG GMT II and getting Rubber B straps to add versatility).

How do you all think the RG YM fits in with my collection?

Glad to see you back on the Forums my friend.

I would add the YG GMT as I feel a Rolex sports watch looks best on a bracelet.

I have gone back and forth on the RG YM. I loved it from pics when first saw them at Basel. Then I saw in person and passed on it as was underwhelmed. Now the more I see it the more I like it. Look forward to your incoming!

Thanks Ken, it's funny you say that because that happened with me too...
Initially I was a tad underwhelmed, then I started looking at AP 44rg and even Hublot BB rg believe it or not.
I love that black rubber strap, rose gold case, black bezel look, just love it!
Because of price and my small wrist, I am currently strongly leaning RG YM.

I tried it on just the other day after an 9 month break and it was as if I was seeing it with new eyes.
It is more subtle and beautiful then underwhelming and actually perfect for my wrist size.
Needless to say it's grown on me over the last 9 months since I first saw it.

I have to keep some suspense here on TRF for quality entertainment..LOL, but it's looking like a likely incoming soon!

I looked extensively into this, talked to Florida Rubber B dealer who has many YG GMT IIs in stock.
He sent many pics, but in the end, I like the way the RG YM looks on rubber.
Still might be a future watch, but probably would wear it all gold.

Its too top heavy for me. The RG/Chocolate combo my favorite of the Skydwellers,
but I am not excited enough about the way it looks on my wrist.
For that price, I would get a 5711/1r.
(Which I hope to have one day...)
Thanks for the suggestion though

It snuck up on me, that's for sure. AD had perfect size strap for my wrist this time around so I got to experience how it would feel.
Very comfortable... One of the big attractions for me as I love comfort AND style.

It's a win-win situation but my vote also goes for the GMT. You'll have that function, the 18K bracelet for the times you do want to wear it, and much more. Regardless the outcome to this will be awesome!
