Which one is most likely to become a classic, the GMT ll Batman or the Deep Sea Blue?

Too little information to provide a quality answer. Both are still in production. The dsb is arguably made in lesser numbers. But the blnr is arguably more popular. When are they going to stop production of either? That's the most critical variable with respect to future value in my estimation.

They are all great. It's highly unlikely one will appreciate more than the other however as they are modern pieces.

Neither. Go vintage now if you want appreciation. Both the DSSD-blue and BLNR are mass produced and will not be hard to come by in the next 5-10 years.

Longer term I'd venture to guess the DBlue as it is produced and made in lower quantity.

If you're looking at this as an investment, you're better off elsewhere. Don't count on appreciation for a very long time, if at all. That said, long term the Deep Sea Blue will probably do better than the blnr

Personally I think that heavy and big watches (>40mm) will not go up in price compared with for example the kermit or the pepsi.

If this is a real-world buying choice, my way would be to start with a BNIB DSSD Blue now and put it in the safe with all the stickers just as it came from AD. Then plan to buy the GMT BLNR BNIB the year they discontinue it and put it in the safe just the same as the DSSD.
Then let history sort out the question 50 years from now.
If you don't have 50 years to wait, like me, then wear them and enjoy!!!

rather than trying to 'guestimate' a future classic/collectible Rolex, why not simply buy one & set it aside....and wait for periodic retail price revisions to push its initial cost upwards? then you can sell it at a profit (albeit it slightly over) what you originally paid for it?

as far as striving to make a big time 'killing' on one...dream on. those days for all intents & purposes, never really existed unless you happened to buy a Rolex when they cost under $1000.00.

I'd say the D-Blue, based upon the additional constraints in which Rolex, has placed upon it's production.

Both will eventually become "classic" as they are both extremely popular amongst modern references. As to which one over the other? Time will tell. As of now, the D Blue is harder to come by but the BLNR has a bigger fan following.

Get the D Blue...It is a tight allocation watch still and hard for even big AD's to get. I know bigger ones only getting a few per year and smaller ones lucky to see one over a few years. So it is still tight and my guess will stay that way. I will say it along with BLNR are 2 of my favorite modern Rolex and make for 2 great additions to any collection.

Agree with Travis, both are very popular given their production numbers, and will be in demand for years to come. As for money, as others have said look elsewhere.
