Mm, I'd like a Yachtmaster 1 to complete my collection. It's a Beautiful watch. I don't like the new model at all.

Anything polished will scratch even if worn as a weekend watch or special occasion watch.

I've been wearing mine in rotation for the last year. The only scratches are minor and on the PCLs. The bezel seems as good as it was when new.
On a different note, my YM is my most comfortable Rolex, hands down.

Thanks everybody for the pics and info- definitely makes me feel better about purchasing one. For me, it was the most comfortable of all the watches I tried on and one of my favorite to look at. I've been on the fence between the sub-c and YM for daily wear- I work in a hospital and tend to be a little rough on my watches.

No, scratches are scratches and they detract from the watch. The PCLs really show a lot of wear quickly. Which is a shame on such a high end watch.

Would love a medium size YM with the nice deep blue dial; too bad they don't made it yet!

Btw, here you see some fine line scratches on the bezel at 10:30 and 11:30.

Nice- those scratches give it character! I have some very expensive guitars. If they get played hard, they will show it. They weren't meant to live in a case. I know a few luthiers, and they love it when a guitar comes back to the shop all beat up! Anyone worried about scratching up a Yacht-Master needs to buy a different watch. Worrying about it takes the fun out of it. |

Wore mine daily fo a while but had to buy a Speedmaster as a daily and turn the YM into an event watch
Same reason, bezel is definitely a scratch magnate

Gets more wrist time than my other watches. I put a red date wheel in mine with inspiration from this forum.
Gorgeous and comfortable. |
