Thoughts on the new QE II Cup 2016?

It's the only 44mm watch to be released this year and limited to 200 pieces. Do you think this will go up in value like the Lebron and other 44mm limited pieces? Seems to be one of the best looking AP's yet and completely sold out.

Going price seems to be low 50's above MSRP. IMHO will stay strong with only 200 pieces being made. Plus a unique combo of forged carbon with RG bezel with ceramic pushers. AP nailed this one.

I'm confused on the price. Are you saying it is going for 50K MORE than msrp? How much is this one? It's the most beautiful watch I have see

Yep ... as much as I love FC, this combo does not work for me.

I think the msrp is 46K and its trading for 51-52K.

Love the combo but wish they did a little more with the dial. Maybe put a nice gold border around the minutes on the main dial or even make the minute and hour sub dials all gold.

AP LEs seem to be pretty strong right now. I was never a fan of the Lebron and that's holding strong and the shumi came out right before the AP price decrease but it's still well over MSRP. Since AP has cut the number of LEs I think prices should do well.

For me this will always be the best QE II cup AP, not a huge fan of the new one, whereas the old QE II cup diver is awesome...

But for those who want the new one there are a few on chrono 24, but not for me, would love the old one though, it's a mean looking diver...

It looks fine to me, but I prefer the look of both the standard rg and the standard fc. However, AP LE's are doing very well I don't think you would lose much, if at all, with today's market value. However, I don't think these will appreciate as much as RB2, Montoya's, etc.

I agree, there are many more LE's I prefer, and like you say I prefer the standard 44's to this one, whichever material... I I wanted to get a LE chrono my choice would clearly be a Schumacher in titanium, saw one in real and it is stunning in real, and funny thing is that the ti model is the nicest of the 3 IMO, plus it is very light which is a good thing for such a big watch...

The Ti Schumi is awesome. It's funny because I was cross shopping one against my RG Novelty last year and I remember they were mid 40's then. Now they're mid 50's! Steadily going up. . .

Actually it looks OK, but still not a great fan of TT APs and PPs, they seem more fluid on Rolexes.

Not my taste. Seems like a carbon 44 with a RG bezel and pushers? They should have done more to differentiate it.

I'll pass. The bezel screams ding magnet to me. If it's in ceramic or cermet then might be worth another look.

Still kick myself for not getting the Ti schumi. It's my favorite material Ti/cermet. I was ready to pull the trigger on a NIB one for around $40k as AP was having their price decrease. Went with the plat 44mm instead because that one was around $100k then lowered to $69k and could be had for mid $50s. The plat 44mm is still the best deal for a modern AP but the shumi is the one that got away and I'm still looking for a Ti AP. AP is strong right now and the LEs are doing very well.

Is AP strong again? I still have my plat 44, but was told it's pretty weak pre owned at the moment. Would love to hear it's back on an upswing. It's an amazing watch and pops much more than the ti Schumi.

I was offered $58k last month for mine in mint condition with blue schumi rubber strap and new original gator strap with 2 year warranty. Almost sold it but sentimental value and enjoyment for the watch made me keep it.

Totally Agree! The second a scratch gets on that bezel I would lose my mind.

Wow! I was offered one new from an AD last month for 52k. Unfortunately still out of reach at the moment. A piece I aspire to own some day. (I didn't start a negotiation without being ready to purchase for the record, a big no no in my book, the AD contacted me )
