Robert Maron GMT 1675 with a Tiffany service dial
Someone sent me this link to check this Tiffany dial found on a late 1970s GMT 1675.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ROLEX-TIFFAN...oAAOSwvg9XfBXH Looks like an interesting GMT, especially since it is a service dial stamped Tiffany. The seller states, "Original Tiffany & Co. co-signed black dial with uniform and pleasing patina on the hour markers and original hands. Date at 3 o’clock."

This is online with his business policy of fake dials.
Personally I'm not capable to determine if it's a service dial but John is our foremost expert on GMT's so his word is gold. |

I am no expert on T&C dials, but that one looks like a fairly obvious fake to me (embellished factory dial?). The logo is completely wrong in font/size and shouldn't be as bold as the surrounding Rolex print.
At least that is how all of the known-genuine T&C dials I have seen appeared. |

Hi... Can you explain what you mean regarding "This is online with his business policy of fake dials.?" As I'm typing this, I am thinking that you may have meant "in line" and auto-correct or speaking a different language could have changed your wording, or that maybe he has a written policy online about using fake dials. Just looking for clarification. I'm interested to see what the end verdict is on this dial. Thanks.

I know almost less than zero about vintage GMT and would love to learn more but this is what jumped out at me. Would there be such thing as a Tiffany service dial? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If Tiffany took it in for servicing and the customer's dial was damaged they might stamp a service dial. But IMHO they wouldn't change their silk screen mask to replace the iconic Tiffany trademark logo with what we see in that listing.
