Milgauss GV rantings

I was at my AD yesterday. The sales lady I always deal with told me they sold an anniversary Milgauss on Tuesday, their first. I said to her "hey, I thought the first one was going to be mine". She responded that the owner of the store had promised it to someone else. I think I want the GV as a keeper, although I have never seen one in person. She said she did not like the watch and felt there was nothing special about it. Another sales lady said she really liked it a lot and felt it was "very nice".

Then through out the visit, my sales lady laid some conflicting AD info on me. First she told me they won't have another GV until November. Then late on she said that her Rolex sales rep. said they would get one a month for the next few months. This is why you should never take anything your AD or sales rep. tells you with anything more than a grain of salt. Hopefully they will have another in a month and she will try to make sure I get the first call. Or maybe that means they will be getting one each month but I shouldn't expect a call until November.

That sucks. Some sales people just don't know. You're right, you just can't believe them....LOL.

This just proves that there really is never a list. If someone else the owner likes wants the second one, you'll still be at the top of "the list."

I agree. Its all BS. Only good thing is that this sales lady and her store manager and I get along very well. They like me and I like them. While I am not a power customer, they know I refer people to them and am also loyal, meaning that if I am looking for a watch or jewelery, I always go to them first.

I hope you get one soon and don't think you'll have a problem. Seems like the comments on the watch boards and the dropping GM prices affirm the fact that product is shipping in greater numbers.

Sounds like AD-speak to me, if you are the guy they want to get the GV they will give you a call, but if they get better offers, i.e. more sales to another customer and more $$$ then I think that you will have to wait a little longer.
At least it looks like you will get one this year, which is pretty cool

Same thing happened to me, I was the first on the list as well...but I was "bumped" becasue someine who had spent much more than I had, asked for one. I was pissed, but I understand this! From what I was told, and this was confirmed by another sales person, is that I received the second in the company, I had no problem waiting!

In my experience, there is not a list. You need to try different ADs until you find a sales person who likes you. I met a person in Cancun ho likes me enough to send me personal messages to my cell phone telling me all the hard to get Rolexes they get. She called me to see if I wanted the green glass milgaus, the SS GMT IIC and she says she will call me as soon as she spots a white face Daytona in the store. Keep looking at different ADs until you find a person who likes you enough. If they want you to be on a list, that means you will get the call only if no one in the store has a person on mind first.

Yeah, my AD called me one afternoon and said "Hey, you want a Daytona?". Now, I've never shown the least bit of interest in a Daytona, but I'd bought two Millies the week before, so if I wanted this thing it was mine as she knew I was now a serious buyer. I wonder how many people on the "list" I skipped. AD's... *sigh*
