New Member says "Thanks!"

I am a new member to TRF but have been lurking for months. Thanks to all the wonderful members here, I have learned alot about Rolex and made my first purchase last week. I was debating between the black dial Exp II and the SS GMT IIc. IMO, both are great watches and each have their strong points as pointed out in this forum. I visited several ADs in my area as well as in Boston and was not able to compare them side by side. In fact, only one of the ADs had a GMT IIc but they did not have an Exp II with which to compare. Last week, I visited one of my local ADs and spotted a GMT IIc in the window, I started to get excited, and when I went in I discovered that they had another one in the case! Up until that point, I had visited 4 other ADs and had only seen one SS GMT IIc, so I was quite surprised to see two at the same time. In addition, they also had the Exp II so I could compare side-by-side. As has been said in this forum, "pick the one that sings to you". In my case, the GMT IIc sang loudest! I was able to get it for a total of $6200 no tax because it was shipped out of state. Just got it on Thursday, and haven't stopped smiling!

Thanks again, everyone! The info I have learned from this forum really helped me pull the trigger on my first major watch purchase.

P.S. Thanks, Tools, your thread on how to remove a link from the bracelet was excellent. My bracelet seemed a little loose and I didn't feel like heading back to the AD so did it myself with your directions. Worked out great!

Looks great, I don't think you will stop smiling, all you need to do is just look at your wrist.

Thanks for the welcome, guys. I keep staring at my new watch. Normally, no problem but I have caught myself doing this while driving

I hope I don't get in an accident. That would be a tough one to explain to the officer - and the wife
