Help verifying rolex sub
Dear friends,
Recently was offered a hulk at a very competitive price without box or papers. Would like help in verifying the authenticity of the said watch. Attached are the pics. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Sent from my SM-N920I using Tapatalk |

I personally wouldn't trust pictures in which a guy keeps showing his bare foot, like he doesn't have enough respect for the watch he is selling to cause you to wonder how much clothing he is wearing while. To me it is disrespectful to you and the watch.

Thanks. Maybe I'll pass on this. I think the photos were taken from his home hence the barefoot

Watch looks authentic, but buy the seller. If the price is real low that is a red flag. Nobody sells this reference for cheap. Here is mine for comparison.

1 for Fake and 1 for Genuine. Interesting
@sublover - yours looks a lot more genuine than OPs |

As they say, "buy the foot, not the watch." Why not just buy from a trusted, well-known seller on TRF?

It's my opinion the watch is genuine. If it's a keeper don't stress the box and papers. If you think you will ever sell it, I would find a complete set.

That would be my opinion as well.
Dial print is off, SELs don't look right, plus some other issues. Looks like it's had the crystal replaced to make it look more authentic, which is common (typical crystals on even the really good fakes are either too tall, have date mag issues, or have a very visible LEC). Whoever did the job wasn't very skillful, as the cyclops is misaligned/crooked. Also, it's funny how pics of these super-fakes always seem to have the hands obscuring the coronet on the dial (which is usually an easy-to-spot tell), lol... |

The series of pics he gave you are not very detailed, just showing bits and pieces. Have him take better pics. Outdoors in sunlight. Fake Hulks have flat green dials and there is no "sunburst effect" in natural bright light. Ask him where are the box, booklets and warranty card? Most folks who make a large purchase for an expensive watch keep these things and don't just trash them. They make the resale much easier and more attractive. Just my 2C. |
