Great story.

Funny that I should read this now, because just last night I was thinking about a friend that I helped out a few years ago... he wasn't a close friend, but a buddy, we'd see each other at the racetrack and every-so-often meet for lunch. He was getting divorced, and long story short, I leant him a couple of thousand, of which he paid back about $300 and then dropped off the face of the earth. I spoke to him a few times after that, and he promised to pay me back when he could, but he never did. I have written off the loan as lost money, now years later I still haven't heard from him (he's moved, I'm not sure where, so I don't have his phone number and he doesn't answer emails) and I'm so bitter over it that I'll never make that mistake again.

I'm just happy to read this thread and know that not all people are like that.

My mom has always said that good karma will find its way back to you. As a kid, I always blew her off, but now that I'm older and wiser, I believe everything that she told me growing up.

You're a world class gentleman.

Words are cheap but actions define the man. Yours speak for themselves Paul and I think your friend is a lucky guy in more ways than one.

A certain common friend of ours suggested this site to look at watches, and here I am. And here you are. Small world....
