Why put all that wear and tear on the watch if you're not using it. Let it die and wind when needed

heard lots of good things about Wolf. I personally use "Boxy", quad watch winder, and have 3 of those. Also one "GB Winder", which also works very very well.

Have to agree 100% after all thats what those kind folks at Rolex put that round thing with the Rolex emblem on called the winding crown to wind the movement.

Wolf is great. I have one really like it. But recently don't use it anymore. I just let my watch die and wind them as I rotate through my collection.

If we wory about the wear and tear too much on the watch I suggest we only wear it 3 days a week or alternatively we can be stationary for 5 hours a day!! Get a watch winder...all scare mongering and appropriate 20 years ago...I live in todays world not yesterday!!

I have an Orbita Rotowind and it is very well made, looks great, is silent in the bedroom, and runs on a battery for years.

I can't see spending money on a winder when you can manually wind. If you have a watch with a lot of complications that have to be set maybe, but a Rolex no date or date a winder is not needed. I have nine Rolex watches in rotation, four GMTs, three Subs,a SD 4000, and a SDDS Blue they are all wound daily and time checked on the weekend and set if required.

If you are definitely going to get a second watch at some point I would go ahead and get at least two winders. There are also some that are modular so you can add on as needed and daisy chain the plugs.

I recently bought my first winder a month ago as my wife's watches were never wound or on the correct time as a result. That and I'm getting a DD soon and don't want to have to deal with changing the time date and day.

I bought the quad Viceroy 2.7 off Overstock for around half retail. Have to watch for the right sale. One of the winders isn't working correctly but since it is under a month Overstock is sending a replacement.

Hope it's a fluke but the other three winders work great!

Both Wolf and Orbita make very solid winders. I have owned both over the years and no complaints with either.

thanks for the recommendation guys. i will look into wolf!

i wear it almost everyday of the week.

my office is also a warehouse and when the shipment comes in, i go out and help out as well. i cant just kickback and not help out just cause im wearing a rolex haha

it's not just wear and tear or scratch level of damage that can be caused to my watch, but it can literally break the watch if i try to do the job. so instead of taking it off at work, i just not wear my watch.

I agree. Certainly not a necessity with a watch lacking complications, but I don't see any real harm either. Wolf makes a great one for the money.
