Noticed a couple of people asking why I went for the no date .. Truth is I underestimated how noticeable the bulk of the watch would be .. And although I really like the clean look of the no date dial , I do feel like I'd prefer the date.
Before pulling the trigger I had stupidly discounted the pre ceramic models due to the " hollow links " and older clasp .. And convinced myself that I needed the modern interpretation of the models. I am off work on Tuesday , so I will spend sometime looking at other models , going to try on the coke , Pepsi and pre ceramic sub along with the DJ2.. I've been without the watch for a couple of days now and I've not missed it or had the urge to get it back .. Think that says allot. |

As others have suggested, take a look at the GMT IIC
Nothing wrong with the previous-gen watches, but make sure you are happy with buying a fairly old, used watch (which may require a service) and also the old-style clasp.

If you have an ounce of regret / dislike, return it ASAP. Don't even second guess it. Just figure out which one you want though, not sure if the dealer will be pleased if you come back a second time!!

Everyone here has been in your shoes, myself included if we were to admit it. Happened at hours or longer! Good luck with the re-sale!

I'm actually struggling with the thought of OP finding a Sub too heavy. Anyhoo, if you can sell the reference either back to your AD or to Watchfinder at only a £200 loss then I'd do that and then go back to your AD and try on a shed load of watches and find something that really sings.
DJ2 from a Sub wouldn't be somewhere I'd go but to each his own. Good luck and I hope you find something you're happy with

Pepsi and Coke GMT are singing loud to me just now.
I have an appointment to view both a coke and pepsi on Tuesday, my understanding is these can be a dangerous proposition due the difference in references and the use of non original parts Any one know of any good source of research. I do think id prefer the pater SEL and non holes case |

My dealer has located a lovely 1993 GMT Pepsi for £4000 / $5,235
Although its a holes case. its in great condition with only a little stretch to the bracelet, going to view the piece tomorrow morning. These GMTs seem to go for crazy money. |

Think i want to flip after 4 days

As said above, you might consider an older 16610 as an alternative due to its lower weight; weight of mine (has 93150 bracelet, non SEL) with 1 link short is 126 grams and about 13mm in thickness Check this post for the weights of many Rolex models, not sure if DJ 2 weight is there; if not pretty sure someone here can give you the information: http://www.rolexforums.com/showthrea...=429943&page=2 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Two very different watches.
Sounds like you don't know what you want. My guess is you'll flip the DJ as well. Maybe take a little time out / try on some other pieces and brands...and think on it. |

I am just trying to narrow my search down to what I prefer, and this process started over 1 year ago when I was considering brands like Tudor and Omega. I'm fairly confidant the next watch I buy will be between a pre ceramic GMT and a DJ 2. And if I buy the watch correctly then so what if I decide to " flip "the piece down the road. |

For reference, the 116710LN with 1 link short weighs 148 grams and is about 12mm in thickness.

A GMT ? Well, no harm really...I'm not a flipper - though I have sold a watch or two after a few years - and didn't enjoy the activity much. If you're fine with it go forth! Lots of flippers here. Some seem to relish it. Different strokes I guess. |

I'm hoping I really fall for the next one and I can maybe start to add one or 2 more down the line.
Finding the right 1st watch is proving harder than I thought. |

[QUOTE=rebel_1;6941594]It gets easier.... not really! Probably the best thing you could ever do if you want to be satisfied with a one and only is to pick the one you like best in size, comfort and looks. Then, announce to us your choice, with pictures of course. Then read all of the congrats posts, as well as the I'd have kept the SubC posts, then quit logging in to this forum!! Otherwise you will probably never be able to be satisfied with a one and only!QUOTE]

If you are going for the DJII you really need to be sure. You won't loose much flipping a Sub or GMT but you will really take a bath if you try to resell a DJII if you change your mind again. That is why you can almost always get a good discount on a Datejust.
Buy what makes you happy, you are going to be wearing it. Just be sure of what you are getting if you have a tendency to change your mind. |

If you are not enjoying it, might as well sell it and get something you will love.

I've never been a fan of the cyclops and date Subs, so I think it's a matter of personal preference. If I ever got a Sub, it would be a no date Sub.
Just take your time and go try some watches on. It's so different once you try them on and see them on your wrist. Good luck my man! |
