I wouldn't get rid of my 16710 Pepsi for anything. They are becoming so hard to find in great condition and prices are slowly rising up up and away.
Having said that I do adore the BLNR and if it weren't for the fact that I have SubC and the Pepsi, it could be my one and only for sure.

No! You have a classic. Enjoy it P.S. They don't make classics any more

Not an upgrade. Different watches.

Maybe buy a new bezel insert color to quell the temptation of "upgrading" watches? I certainly don't think it would be an upgrade.

You'll eventually want to own both at the same time.

This is a great post, I am in almost the exact conundrum. I bought my 16710 new in December 1999 and it has been through everything with me. The good times and the bad. I have been thinking of selling it (original boxes, paperwork, hang tags, booklets, even have the receipt!) for a BLNR. It is hard to let it go. It's due for a service so I think if I send to the RSC and give it some love and it'll come back new. It was Coke originally but I like what some have said to change the insert and give it a new look. Thanks everyone and the OP!!

Should I upgrade my 16710 Pepsi to a 116710BLNR
To add to my post I've been also contemplating selling the DJII and getting the TT SubC 116613LB

Thank you douglasf13, that was a touching article. Lately the allure of getting another watch has been great and I have forgot how much sentimental value it has. I'll flip the Date Just II for the next watch. I always considered myself a one watch guy and since buying the DJ I have not worn my GMT that much. Looks like I will have to make some wrist time again for it and remember the good times... Thank you!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks. When I refer to 3 x inserts: The 16710 have 3 different colour variations original to the 16710 model - so having all 3 (BLRO, NRRO and just black) adds valuable flexibility.

Oh, of course! Is the jubilee on the BLNR a Rolex bracelet? Are they easy to come by? |

Perhaps wait until Rolex brings out the ceramic Pepsi and then get in the queue :)

Not sure about the thread title to be honest. I have both watches and I'd suggest the key word is 'change' not 'upgrade'.

16710 is a keeper. BLNR is very nice. I have both and wear BLNR for business travel and Coke for pleasure travel. I already flipped a 116710LN and am happy where I am at now.

Fellas, unless the OP pipes up and says otherwise, I'd assume that he's already made his decision four months later.
